So sad to hear of the passing of Earl Morrall, the Muskegon Big - TopicsExpress

So sad to hear of the passing of Earl Morrall, the Muskegon Big Reds quarterback who went on to star at MSU and the NFL. Earl and I used to get our hair cut at the same little barbershop in Birmingham, MI in the late 70s. He was such a humble and unassuming guy, you would never know he was a football great. He never received the credit he deserved for the 72 Dolphins undefeated season. When Griese got hurt, Earl stepped in and led Miami to 11 consecutive wins. The only thing he joked about was the fact he only made $90,000 as a backup quarterback that year, and they never would have paid him that much if it hadnt been for Don Shula. Two classy guys.
