So sad to hear this Saturday- my heart aches.... Andrew Edward Crabtree DURHAM — Andrew Edward Crabtree, 19, of Durham, died on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was the son of Guy Wayne Crabtree and Deborah DiFiore Crabtree, and the twin brother of Ashley Elizabeth Crabtree. Andrew attended Immaculata Catholic School and graduated from Riverside High School, where he was a member of chorus, drama, and the swim team. He was on Homecoming Court, student of the month on several occasions, Prom King, and nominated for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship. He also attended Governor’s School of North Carolina for drama, and was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill, majoring in drama and history. Andrew was an actor, singer, philosopher, and walking encyclopedia who had a thirst for knowledge and a passion for books, movies, clothes (especially shoes) and his wide, eclectic circle of friends. While attending both Riverside and UNC, Andrew appeared in various theatrical productions, often in the leading role. At UNC, he was very active in LAB! Theatre, and was a member of the improv group CHIPS. He most recently appeared in the Deep Dish Theatre production of The Cripple of Inishmaan. In addition to acting, Andrew loved to sing. He was a member of The North Carolina Boys Choir and Riverside chorus. Andrew attended the Duke Young Writers Camp as both a camper and a counselor. Andrew was an accomplished and moving speaker as well as a wonderful and engaging writer. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. A funeral mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Chapel Hill Street in Durham, on Wednesday, June 19 at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18 from 6:30- 8:30 PM at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
