So shopping at Safeway today I encountered a supreme example of narcissism...a woman was shopping with her daughter in a fun cart, along with her injured husband (cast on his arm). Initially after the first time she cut in front of me I thought she was distracted by her family. No big deal, however the next two times seemed more purposeful. Then at the checkout she rushed her cart in front of me ( and my meager 7-8 items) so that she could grab an entertainment mag to read. Her husband kept track of their daughter while unloading their cart, cast and all, while she simply continued to read. Just as they finished she put the mag back on the rack. She even had the audacity to tell her husband to hurry up and her daughter to "shut up" as they were leaving. I nearly lost it, I really came dangerously close!!!
