So, since Oct 1 I have tried (almost) every day to register and log into healthcare.gov. In that process I have created 3 unique usernames. At no time have I been able to log in. However, when clicking on reset password, in the vain hope of being able to get in, I have always received a link (not in clickable code for some reason) that I could copy/paste in, which then takes me to a page that says We werent able to process your request because we couldnt find a Marketplace profile that matched the information that you provided. This despite the fact that I received the password reset link to the email address that I had registered with that username. Ive created 3 usernames because each time Ive tried to restart the whole process it tells me that I cant use the previous name(s) because theyre already taken. Strange, since the accounts dont exist, but, whatever. OK, today, for the third time, I used the online chat feature to chat with someone who can help. (Untrue, but, what else is new) Today, amazingly, I did get a tidbit; I was told that I need to go get a free email account because I can no longer use my real email, since its associated with accounts that apparently dont exist.... So, OK, I create a *fourth* username and use a different email account. I finally get in and it tells me that, using my name, address, phone number and SSN it cant verify my identity, so, Ill need to call Experian and gives me a code. I call Experian and give then the code. Then they demand my address, phone number and SSN and my permission to access my data. I go along with the gag because, wtf, but, they come back and tell me they cant verify me because I have no credit history, because I dont owe anybody any money and havent applied for or opened any accounts in the past 3 years (or something like that, since theyre cagey with how long theyre looking at.) I ask them what my credit history has to do with applying for legally mandated health insurance. They say, nothing, but its just how the government wants to do things. Uh Huh. So, Im still not verified, but I go back to my now working account with healthcare.gov and just say screw it and continue on with the process. Im still online now an hour later.
