So since its no shave November, Ive been growing out my beard and realized its really red. I thought this was strange since the hair on my head is mostly brown. After doing some research, Ive discovered that the most likely cause of this is that I have viking blood. When the predominantly red headed vikings invaded the British isles centuries ago, they brought their genes with them when they mixed with the local population. Although the genes that cause red hair didnt always stick with their descendants, the genes that cause red facial hair did. Thus you have me. I never knew how much my head and facial hair color could tell me about my heritage.
