So, that cowboy mood from a couple days ago developed into this little song. The lyrics are about my experiences living in the totalitarian regime of the GDR, my father being a victim of that regime, fleeing East-Berlin, and the coping mechanisms that manifested themselves in many East-Germans after the Berlin Wall came down. Having lived through this really made me appreciate the freedom that thrives in a secular, democratic environment. No country or political system is perfect, but when you can speak up, stand up, and fight for your rights without being persecuted - that is something to live and yes, die for.
