So that question comes up:- What is TeePee Land? What´s it about? So as a brief answer, and moving to a question.... TeePee Land was started ultimately because of a woman, the founder decided to remember his lost love by building a teepee, and hoped to attract visitors at the same time. So while the first spark was an act of dedication, it´s priciniple function was attraction. So Teepee land is an ode to the ladies lost, but it´s living function is one of attraction, for tourists, locals, those with an eye for art and culture, refuge for some, a home to others, a place to pass by and maybe stay a night or two; A living cultural project, currently we have gardens in developement- artistic(stone and flower), functional(vegtables), and educational(herb) with a spree walk path to view them. While they are currently still inprogess, when finished, they should offer visitors not only a nice walk but also an experience in urban gardening variety. We currently have cinema two nights a week and open stage every friday, open stage is open for all people, whatever act, today we had a puppet show, on the first evening, contempary dance on roller skates, hopefully in future comedy, poetry, speed non-art :-), in this sense Open stage allows and affords all people, an opportunity to perform, for a first time, or as an experienced performer, all are welcome- Even naked horses. :-) "we dont want to make bad houses, we want to make teepeeland look nice" A living space, that seeks to keep public land for public use, and offer the public, cultural events in an alturnative enviroment. We are starting workshops, to learn German, possibly English and Russian also, there is a jewellery workshop, and hopefully in the future many others, circus workshop perhaps where people could learn better skills to perform, a music workshop, gardening workshop. workshops for better life skills. Also should be noted that the space of the stage is avaible for those that would seek to use it for presentaions or other functions, recently a visitors displayed the photographs he had taken while traveling in Asia. Their is a spenda cafe also, most villages have one :-) a cafe anyway. While there is no overall political agenda or philosophy, for the village, one thing does appear to ring true, quote:- "Everyone in TeePeeLand, all of us that live here, are really different people, not slightly different but we are all really different, with all the problems in the world, teepee land does in some way show those differences can be over come, peace love and freedom" I´ll note that we have all the signs of the zodiac represented amoung a main group of 15 people :-) So TeePeeLand is certainly a place that wants and seeks to give back to Berlin, it seeks to make Berlin a nicer place to visit, to offer something distinct, but also to offer opportunities, to perform, to Learn German, to gain some form of self-independence, or another view on life, and I suppose another way of living. This ofcourse is one oppinion amoung many, a defintion is ofcourse not soo easy, but I would like others amoung our friends in a few words to try and define what TeePeeLand is about. Essencially from my perspective it is a living space(in the sense that people live there but also in the sense that it is growing, evolving) that seeks to offer Belin and its many visitors an alternative and cultural experiences. A small flower growing.... It is amazing what can be achieved in a small limited space. So for those of you that know us, how would you describe Tee Pee Land?
