So the Russian invasion is really a staycation? Russia gave Crimea - TopicsExpress

So the Russian invasion is really a staycation? Russia gave Crimea to the Ukraine in 1954, albeit when it was within the USSR. 60% of the Crimean population is Russian. Im no fan of Putin, he needs a decent horse and a shirt before his next photo-op, but could we be in danger of jumping the Gun here, and how come none of this has been mentioned before? The US has military bases in over 150 countries, including ones who have no love of us, such as Cuba (where we detain many illegally, and apply torture to boot). If we were to wish to secure the peace in an area with an overwhelming US population, and furthermore, rather than an incursion, we would be acting within our Treaty with that country at a time of dangerous internal political and social instability, would we not consider that reasonable? I dont know, and all the spin is very messy, but we might just realize our own nightmare scenario. We might want to take a deep breath before rattling sabers. That doesnt mean we shouldnt have them at hand.
