So the US government spent 10 yrs & 100s of Billions of dollars of YOUR money in Iraq attempting to train the Iraqi army. The result? The Iraqis fled wholesale in the face of the Islamic State invasion, and left much of OUR expensive and lethal weaponry in the hands of the enemy. Now, our government wants to spend 500 Million MORE dollars of YOUR money to train 5000 so-called Moderate Islamic Militants for 1 year, with the plan that they will fight ISIS in Syria. If 10 years and 100s of Billions of YOUR dollars did NOT work in Iraq, a much easier area to operate in, what makes our leaders think this strategy is going to work in Syria? And who are these moderate Islamic militants? And how can our government guarantee that these Islamic Militants will use the training, weaponry & money we give them to fight ISIS and not Assad, or worse yet, us? The answer is: They CANT. Why are we helping to save autocratic Islamic monarchies like Saudi Arabia, who themselves export terrorism, and persecute Christians for simply sharing their faith? Our foreign policy is beyond inept.
