So... the following is a bit if a rant & my opinion...but I find the premise of the new t.v. show Salem, being currently promoted heavily as it is premiering tonite, to be exceedingly disturbing. It is a supernatural fiction based in Salem, Mass. at the time of the witch trials that pretty much puts out the idea that evil witches actually existed in the town at the time. Which of course means hunting must occur. It then, subsequently justifies and romanticizes the hunting and punishing of said actual witches. There by, in my opinion, dismissing the horrible and unjustified persecutions and murders that occurred during that dark time in our history. Smells of a deeper agenda...and it makes me sad and mad. Thus endth my rant.
