So the past 7 weekdays I have been a juror on an Eminent Domain case. The county needed some of these peoples land for a road widening project. The county will be ruining these peoples property by installing concrete retaining walls, along over 300ft of road frontage. These walls will average almost 12 high, dramatically reducing the value of the land. This land had been in the family for generations. This couple built their house in 1986. The land has been cleared of trees and privacy from the hwy. its a shame no matter how you look at it. We had to put a monetary number on the loss, both direct and indirect. Glad its over on my end!
