So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” (Romans 4:16-18 NLT) Real Bible faith involves a balanced perspective ; believing Gods Word in the face of our circumstances , while not ignoring circumstances or pretending no problem exists . Faith recognizes the problem , then presents it to God , acknowledging Him in the face of the problem and declaring His truth and promise as the greater word on the subject . Abraham is used as an example here , he did not deny his or Sarahs natural condition, but believed Gods ability to change circumstances by calling those things that did not exist as though they did. Notice, this verse does not say God calls things that are, as they though they do not exist; but rather, that God calls those things which do not exist as though they do exist. Thus we see that authentic faith does not deny the obstacle at hand, but declares that God is greater than the obstacle. Faith does not deny that a sickness is in the body, but declares Jesus ability to heal the body. Face does not deny financial need, but acknowledges Jesus ability to meet our needs. Thats what Jesus called having faith in God we speak to the mountain and tell it to be removed . Speak to your problems , with what Gods word says , not about the problem and watch your faith go to work .
