So, the question is: why do I have to learn English? Why is it so important? We, as Malays should use BM when communicating with friends. Yup! The same question raised, the same complaint I get every time I encourage someone to improve their English. So, yesterday and today I was approached by two of my students from different classes. A girl and a guy. Situation 1 with Rullfan Shahrul Miss, eh madam..you know what? What? Last week when I went out with a friend, I talked to a foreigner! Wow! Really???? Tell me. Tell me! Yes. Well. I was out with JJ and suddenly a foreign tourist came up to me for directions. What happened then? I showed them the way. They even asked me about the interesting places in Terengganu so I walked with them and asked him where he came from. Wheres he from? Germany. Wow, thats so cool! Good! Now, you understand why I told you English is fun to learn right? Yes!!! Situation 2 with SUfi CEx Tuex Miss, eh madam.. Did you see my Facebook status about me meeting foreign tourists from Sweden? What???? Really? When? When? Last time I was out, there were three tourists asking people around me if anyone speaks English. I was afraid at first. Everyone didnt respond. So, when they came up to me and asked if I can use English, I said yes. Alhamdulillah. Thats great! So, what happens next? I spent my time with them from noon till night. We ate together, all four of us in a restaurant. Imagine Im the only Malay girl at the table. Everyones watching and I had had a good time getting to know them. Waaaaaaaaa, awesome! So, I asked one simple question. How do you feel about yourself? Happy! And proud of myself! Alhamdulillah. All praises to Allah SWT. :) I hope each of them will achieve success fiddunya wal akhirah. Ameen ameen Ya Rabbal Alamin. :D
