So...the two spanish citizens who had been kidnapped in Colombia - TopicsExpress

So...the two spanish citizens who had been kidnapped in Colombia (in La Guajira) were rescued yesterday; it also turns out that they were kidnapped in Colombia (remotely) by an organized crime group operating in SPAIN, from SPAIN, carriying out extorsion in SPAIN. Since said citizens were known to be travelling to Colombia and were also presumed to have euros in their (Euro)pean bank accounts, the rescue sum was demanded in euros by the Spanish group itself. I wonder how cost-efficient it must be for organized crime cells operating throughout Europe to continue to label Colombia as a "terrorist" country populated largely by "terrorists". In a similar fashion, I cannot help but to wonder how convenient it is for countries in the Global North to utilize dehumanizing tactics to carry out agendas of this nature. I imagine it goes as follows : let them starve...once desperate by starvation and extreme poverty...we then have but to offer easy/effective ways of making money. DONE. They continue to reinforce their terrorist image thus helping us increase our saviorist prestige and our capital. Genius. - SMA
