So then.... The party is over, the balloons have been popped and cake has been cut. It was an avengers cake from Morrisons. Last year was my Spider-Man cake that was bigger then my littlest bear. People are disappointed that I resorted to shop bought cake this year. None more so than me. It was so hard to hand over money for shop cake. BUT he didnt care. Really and truly. What he cared about was that he had a party. With all of his friends. And sausages. And balloons. And cake. And party bags. And presents. Go back and re read that last paragraph. Go on. It says cake. Not mummys home made showstopper wow cake. The cake was hacked up and stuffed into party bags. It will sit in those party bags for days til the mums throw it away. I know because thats EXACTLY what happens in out house after every single party. Last year the cake got so much attention. And therefore so did I. I wont lie it felt great. But this year no one cared about the cake. They cared about my bear and his best buddy who shared his party. And thats exactly how it should be. So I dont feel guilty. And I wont ever, nor have I ever, make anyone feel guilty about a shop bought cake. We all make choices. I chose to buy a cake and spend my time with my son. It was the right choice for me, for him , for us this time. Lets, as cakers, stop abusing peoples choices. Lets instead celebrate those who chose to order unique one-off lovingly made cakes from us. Without those customers wed be out of work. But please lets stop going on about how bad shop bought cake is as if its a sin. Ive done it, I admit. I wont do it again. Horses for courses. Xxx
