"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." 1 Corinthians 1:21 Dear Saints, i challenge thee this eve, to locate where in the bible it saith that faith cometh through the listening of "Christian" music? The church of America is in such a bad way, that people actually will decide what church to go to depending on how good their worship music is!! A dearly beloved brother of mine hath said "the music is important to me, i get more out of the music, than of the preaching of the word" and i sadly must confess, even mine own wife shares this view! Watchman nee, and Art Katz, (like mine self also) hath stated that part of the last days deception will come through music! And when churches play 4 or 5 worship songs (some go as high as 8!?) It can drown out the Spirit, notice, the volume, the hype, creating a "energized" atmosphere, why? Could it be that the SPIRIT OF CHRIST IS NOT THERE?!? could it be that man feels the need to "pump" up their audience? Like Art Katz, i would be more impressed with the church who could worship in silence, AS ONE TRUE BODY!! than the predictable mind numbing music that is glorified OVER GODS WORD!?!? Read Psalm 119 sometime dear Saints, (yea its long, so what!!) Thou shalt see just how much importance God hath put upon His word!Saints, I AM NOT AGAINST WORSHIP MUSIC!! few of ye may even know, that at one time, i myself was a drummer and a very good one at that! Still am (i guess)! When lead of THE SPIRIT to praise and worship our Lord God Christ Jesus, then Amen and Amen!! But be lead of the Spirit, NOT SOME FLASH IN THE PAN WORSHIP LEADER ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! If the Spirit say worship, worship, if praise, praise...if (oh my goodness) no music, THEN UNPLUG THE AMPLIFIERS AND WORSHIP IN SILENCE!! It is THE WORD OF GOD that saves Saints, the preaching (not the preacher) that should be the center piece of the "service" not the music!! Sadly we have this backwards now adays! Going to church for a concert? Or to hear a REAL WORD spoken from the Throne of Heaven, by one whom is sent, chosen and annointed of God? I love ye all my dear Saints, Perfect peace, and at such a time!
