So there I was, in the Belvoir PX at lunch waiting for my food. Theres a brigadier general standing in line for subway, so I studiously avoid eye contact and turn my body, hoping he doesnt see my rank. I get my food and take a seat, he later walks right by, so I give him the greeting of the day and his eyes flick down to my chest. He sees the dot and gives me a half grin, goes and gets a straw for his drink and sits down right across from me, mind if I take this seat?... It was a very good conversation and made lunch interesting, but the dot is like bait to high ranking officers.
