So there is a national focus on Bullying. What is the root of this problem? Where are children learning this behavior? What is the solution? I would argue that bullying starts at home. Everywhere I go I see parents who are sooo impatient with their children. Parents who get embarrased and then lash out at their children. Parents who use fear, intimidation and threats to manipulate thier children. Its no surprise to me that children go to school and act out what they have seen at home. I believe (and I will model in my home) that our children should be raised in love, with patience, and with grace. I believe that children should be raised by thier parents and not their school teachers, nickelodeon, babysitters and ipads. I believe that parents should model the greatness expected of their children, and consistently exhibit the problem solving and conflict resolution skills our culture so desperately needs. I believe that if parents truly want to see a change - We need to look in the mirror.
