So there is this beautiful 12 year old girl that also has an amazing talent. I know because she was my assistant at a wedding this summer. Like all of us photographers (maybe more so because of the immaturity of her peers), we hear things like If I had a nice camera, I can do what you do. My reply sweet Alysha Plaza to anyone who says that to you is No you cant. God gifts us all with our unique talents. Alysha was fortunate enough to discover hers young. I wasnt, I was 30! But if you insist that you can, please do. If you do, you will have my praise and attention. You see, the camera is maybe 10%of the process. Truly talented people can make works of art with a cell phone, an aged camera... Anything. Because it comes from within. A deep place where we burn non stop. Yes, she is successful. Both with this and academically. Oh what a humble and mature person you would be if you cheered her art and marveled at her gifts instead of trying to break her down . My friends, especially my incredibly successful cousin and wedding photographer, please share your encouragement with this precious child to help silence the negativity around her?
