So there was this guy stuck on some remote island out in the woods all alone with nothing but the shredded clothes on his person, eye glasses, and a calculator. His name was Arty and he had not eaten in days. On his hands and knees forging for food and was needing meat because he did not eat vegetables, but was desperate enough to do so this one time. Tripping over a stump, Arty fell onto a thornless thistle but seemed like the leaves could be eatable if he held his breath, chewed, and swallowed quickly. Art took a huge bite of this thick and jerky plant and began to chew and swallow quickly. The plant did not clear his airway and Arty began to clutch at his throat as he began to choke. This is how the artichoke got its name.
