There is no requirement to receive an authorization to exercise a constitutional right. In fact, it is illegal, and indeed the Supreme Court in the early 90s held that it was illegal to require protesters to obtain permission to protest. If the police have any objection to the protest, they are required to notify the organisers asap and propose another date and/or route, as well as specify their reasons. Since they were unable to do so on Friday, and tomorrow is Matyrs Day and for that matter, the courts will not sit. I can assure you that indeed, we will visit the incompetent president of this land.
