So theres a new version of the Romans created Christianity as propaganda theory going around now, (link below) Ah yes, that nonsense that cant explain why the Romans slaughtered the early Christians as much as the Jews did. The one that cant explain why this Roman propaganda kept completely intact the Jewish disdain of Roman pagan religion. Jesus was certainly not the warlord Messiah who most Jews expected, but the idea that any Jew was going to actually believe some story to cause them to give up their fundamental Jewish religious doctrine and nationalism, that was going to cause them to be targeted for massive persecution from the Jewish leadership and pagan Romans, without there being real eyewitnesses and apostles performing miracles to persuade them, is truly ludicrous. Christianity was for a long time a tiny cult that faced massive persecution from Jews and Romans, but it just kept on growing. :)
