So think Im ready to get back into the comic book writing game - TopicsExpress

So think Im ready to get back into the comic book writing game now, but to do it Im going to need help. If Ive leaned anything from Cartooning classes in school, its that going solo on a full story while taking on the responsibilities of a student is suicide, and though I may not be going to school now, I will be soon. So consider this status a help wanted ad for a comic book inking job and maybe a colorist. This will be a regular on going project, we wont just stop after the first book. Im on the fence about hiring an colorist, but if you have the expertise and the commitment, please contact me anyway. But before I hire a colorist I need an inker, so whomever thinks they can handle a pen well enough to do it, please contact me. I will personally discuss and collaborate the details with those who are interested. Details like schedules, deadlines, crowd funding, the safe keeping of the work in progress, and of course payment. I will probably ask for any applicants to provide a portfolio because I do strive to make the best looking product I can with whom ever gets this job. As fortunate as I am to have many artistically gifted friends, I must warn you that you will be judged by the merits of your work, not by the bias of our friendship. If youre not sure about what Im asking for, Ill include a description, its pretty straight forward really. A comic book inker takes the penciled illustrations of the pencil artist and traces over them with ink. The inker is also responsible for shading in the designated areas through either stippling, cross hatching, or regular hatching. They use a range of different pen thicknesses to differ primary subjects from fine detail. It alone is an intricate art form, and it needs to be done well in order to spare the colorist a lot of headache, because its ultimately up to the colorist to fix any mistakes. The end result should be a crisp black and white image ready for the next step. A comic book colorist takes the scanned version of the inked page and in this case digitally adds in colors and shades, usually through soft-wares like Adobe Photoshop. This is a job that requires an adept knowledge of color theory. What I will be doing is story writing, penciling and lettering. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to comment or PM me. And in case you were still curious, yes this is a paying job. The final product will be published for sale, and I plan to sign up for a crowd funding site soon so we can have money for supplies and services rendered. My phone number is (206)963-5560 (please text message) and my email is brandon.isaacks@live. Contact me soon if you are interested in either of these jobs, much thanks, Brandon Isaacks
