So...third post of the night, and its the one Ive been the most - TopicsExpress

So...third post of the night, and its the one Ive been the most excited to post all month. After much work and preparation and putting all the ducks into one neat little row, I am ready to announce my newest project - The MDQ: A Playwriting Podcast! The podcast will feature a half hour interview with a playwright and then 30-45 minutes of the first pages of a play submitted by the playwright. The sampling of the play has two purposes. One, to showcase the work of the playwright with the goal of introducing their voice to theatre professionals and fans. And two, to tempt people into purchasing a digital download of the play to see how it all ends. Info on the specifics (including payment cash dollars towards the selected playwrights) are below in the guidelines & qualifications. However, before there can be a podcast, there need to be guests. This is where all of you awesome 6,406 members come into play. If youd like to be a guest on The MDQ, submit a play that you would wish to be featured. For the next few months my team of awesome reader folks and I will look over the works and select guests for the podcast. Due to technical limitations, folks from Chicago or the Atlanta/Athens, GA area will be given priority, but once I figure out a good way to interview folks from other areas, the priority will be for anyone. That being said, still submit if youre from elsewhere. Im hoping to figure that stuff out pretty quickly. Below are all the submission guidelines and qualifications. Ive looked over them a ton, but if any of them feel a little weird or anything, please feel free to post below. Ive never built a list of guidelines, so Im hoping this first shot was a good one. Episode 101 will premiere in January and playwrights will be contacted by, ideally, mid-December. So, if you have a play and want to hang out and talk about who-knows-what for half an hour or more (we can always edit), send your submission to themdqpodcast@gmail. For news and updates, feel free to follow The MDQ Podcast on Twitter at @theMDQ. So excited to read your work! [Insert podcast sign-off to be decided later here!]
