So this afternoon Ive had a meeting with Karl and Frederico from Blue Glow Web about our website and how we can improve things, both from a business point of view and, more importantly, from a customer point of view. Our first goal is to get meal deals online. Its caused a few problems, but sitting down together and working through it all seems to have paid dividends and they should be online in the next few weeks. Weve also discussed making adding more of the same item a lot easier. At the moment, if you want 3 cans, youve got to order them all independently, but were (theyre!) going add a quantity box at the checkout so that you can increase/decrease quantities easily. Third on the list is the ability for people who have previously ordered online and have an account, to pay cash on delivery. The reason we dont accept cash online at the moment is because it would make hoax orders very easy, and obviously thats something we try to make as difficult as possible. By having an order delivered and paid for online, you will have confirmed your address, and youll have your own login and password so we can be sure an order wont be a hoax. Not only does this save us hassle as a business, it also saves random people having our drivers knocking on their doors! Weve looked at the option of ordering online for collection, and this will work in a very similar way to paying cash on delivery. The first time you order you will need to pay online to collect, but after that, you will have to option to pay cash on collection. Lolly will we pleased to know we have plans to upgrade the customer log in screen which will make things a lot less clunky. Davids idea of some sort of notification for when an order is out for delivery is an excellent one, but very difficult to implement. It is something Ive thought about in the past, and it is on my list, but at the moment there are a lot of things above it that we need to sort first. Finally, WERE GOING TO HAVE AN APP!! Now this may take a couple of weeks, or it may take a few months, it depends on factors outside of my control, but once all the things mentioned above are sorted, well (theyll!) be cracking on developing a fully functional app that you can use to order online. Obviously I know what works for ha as a business, but its very rare I see it from a customers point of view, so input from you guys really does help us to improve and make things better for you.
