So, this cat was TRYING to argue with me the other day about Jesus. #1 I aint having it. #2 I aint having THAT argument in particular. He was arguing with me about December 25 not being the day Jesus was born. Lets keep it real; no one knows the exact day and time Jesus was born, except the people that were there and God. Cmon, now! Aint a need in this world to get mad that someone argues that December 25 is not the right date. Different Christians, from different traditions celebrate Jesuss birthday on different days. Thats why the Egyptian Orthodox Christians that run American Hero are OPEN on December 25. They celebrate Jesuss birthday on January 7. I aint mad at em! Secondly, and this is the point I made with the Christian fellow who was going in on me...do you believe Jesus was born? Even atheists believe that! Muslims believe that! Hindus believe that! If I didnt know my birthday, Id still know I had one! LOL! I was like, Listen, sir, was Jesus born? He paused, Well, yes He was. I said, Cool. Pick a day and celebrate it, but dont argue with me. He got flustered. Well, they... Me: They who? Him: Huh? Oh, you know, the Roman emperor who... Me: Okay. Was Jesus born? Him: Yes. But, they said His birthday was in December to cover a pagan holiday! Me: Are you pagan? Him: [puzzled look] Me: Are you pagan? Him: NO! Me: They didnt take your holiday. Why you mad, bro? [Pause] Me: Pick a day and celebrate the fact that God fulfilled His promise to send a Messiah, to walk among us, to know our struggle, to defeat sin. Pick a day and celebrate that Jesus was born of a virgin. Dont be mad. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6 ESV) Hey, Jesus was born. Merry CHRIST to yall...even today. ;)
