So this has been a trying summer. I threw my back out pretty severely, Ive been diagnosed with crippling arthritis, and been told that in the not terribly distant future, Ill have to have both hips replaced. With all of that going on, Ive been more than a little lax in my yard work. Ive kept my lawn mowed, but thats about it. Using the weedeater, edging, trimming hedges, cleaning out the rain gutters, cutting some tree branches down, even a few trees that need cut down...that kind of went by the wayside. If it got done. okay...if it didnt, okay. Now, fueled by ambition, determination, drive, and painkillers, Im slowly regaining control of my yard. Still pretty hot here in Texas when I get home at about 6:30, but Im putting in a couple hours a night as soon as I feed the dogs. Next spring I might look into renting a tiller and either planting grass or laying sod, I have a couple places picked out to plant flowers and plants, and another place for a possible vegetable garden. Pretty ambitious sounding, I know, but it should be doable if the painkillers hold out...
