So this is a honest revelation I am going to make. I added someone back on Facebook last night, a complete stranger. She managed to hack into my account after adding me and find something really private of mine and was threatening to share it with the whole world unless I pay her CAD$1000 immediately. I deactivated my Facebook temporarily, went to file a report to the police with logs of the conversation the stranger and I have had, and basically have that stranger investigated. Facebook and Waterloo police sent me a reassuring statement that my private information will remain private unless I choose to share it myself in the near future or if I repeat this mistake again. I changed my password and blocked that person as instructed so that she wont have access to my account in any way whatsoever. So for now I am cyber safe and back on Facebook. However, I urge everyone of you to be careful of who you add on Facebook ever. I would not want anyone,especially one of my real friends, to ever have to worry about strangers hacking you and blackmailing your private life.
