So this is the last post on my Windsor - Toronto trip now that I have analyzed all of the data collected. First of all I have to say the trip went as well as expected (maybe better). Driving the county highways instead of the 40x freeways is a great way of seeing Ontario, so much more interesting. My charging stops felt quicker than I was expecting and no issues with any of them. A few things I learned along the way: - Taking the freeway isnt always a range killer, sticking behind a big truck can help by both keeping your speed down and providing a wind benefit (light drafting). I ended up using a little more 401/403 than originally planned. - Man is that L3 in Toronto handy! I had some running around to do in the area and did 3 brief quick-charges. Makes me wish even more for that infrastructure. - Its really hard to use GPS to plan the most efficient route. I had 3 GPSes programmed most of the trip (2 phone apps and the car nav) and they often disagreed, I had to go with my gut on which one to follow which was occasionally wrong. And here are my final stats for the trip: - Total distance (not including Toronto errands): 675km - Total travel time (including charging stops): 23 hrs 46 mins - Time spent charging on route: 12 hrs 23 mins - Time spent charging over night (L2): 8 hrs 50 mins - Number of different charge stations used: 14 - Total charge received: 80.25 kWh - Total energy used: 96.33 kWh It was a great experience and Im glad I did it, although it is unlikely to happen again (at least with this car).
