So this may sound like a sour liverpool supporter but... Luis Suarez will be average at barcelona when he comes back from his ban... the reason he is so lethal for Uruguay and was lethal for liverpool and Ajax was because hes the main option... Luis Suarez needs to play on and around the ball at all times... yes he is good off the ball and can make runs, but he doesnt have the pace to really break offside traps... His brilliance is running at players with the ball.... his ideal position is right behind the forward... At barcelona there is no forward... there is messi... messi plays the same exact role that suarez is best suited to play... Do I think, currently, luis suarez plays that position better and is a more lethal option... yes... in a pick up game would I take suarez over messi... yes... But messi is barcelonas crown jewel... he is not moving positions... So with center forward ixnayed... whats luis suarezs next best position? Out left... this allows him to come in on his favored foot and gives him the room to create in space on the wing (ie. Vs stoke in the fa cup)... Only problem there is barca have just splashed cash on ne ymar last summer... and he will be the basis of their future... That leaves suarez out right... where he can play but it is more difficult for him... he hasnt got the Pace of an out and out winger and his left foot is decent but not great... hes not really a Crosser of the ball either.. Unless of course barca favor two players in that creative space with no forward... but messi and suarez will just wind up in each others way Unfortunately... suarez will be demoted to the subs bench and used to give messi a break... And at liverpool he woulda been the main attraction... After he comes back I reckon no more than 15 goals
