So this past week at Healing Waters Outreach Center..Brenda Vaught, Karen McChesney Brown, Allen Spears went down to Forest City to the prison to get permission forms signed by the prisoners to allow their children to be a part of Angel Tree and the NEW Angel Tree Mentoring we are starting with them. They signed over 650 prisoners who want their children to be a part of this. We have 3 more prisons to go to. We also have Karen McChesney Brown, starting Labor Finders in our center to help get jobs for those who are coming to food and assistance. In August we are partnering with Hunger Relief Alliance and 1st Methodist Church Downtown LR to teach those who are coming here how to shop for healthy food, learn how to budget for food, and how to read what ingredients are good for you and bad for. Then in October with the same group we are teaching Teens and Single moms how to cook through the Cooking Matters Program for 6 weeks. PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING US. GREAT THINGS ARE GOING ON HERE AND WE NEED YOU...ESPECIALLY FOR ALL THE KIDS WE ARE ABOUT TO GET MENTORS FOR.....
