So this was my decision. I could have stopped my treatment and hoped that the cancer is gone or change chemo. Im going to finish my 6 months of treatment but change chemos. I did take 6MP every night (half of a pill. Way less than I should) and methotrexate once a week (half of a reduced dose). Now Ill take 6mp the same and airasee (reduced of course, and I spelled that wrong. Just sound it out exactly and thats how you say it) the problem with stopping my treatment is that I have MRD as well as leukemia. MRD is when you have a lot higher chances to relapse than others. Minimal Residual Disease. My doctor isnt sure if doing the extra 20 weeks will even be helpful. IF I ever do relapse then I will have to take steroids (which will continue to eat away at my already weak bones. I have osteoporosis) and chemos that will have less than a 20 percent survival rate and will cause me to be sterile. My doctor will also have to give me chemo in my spine which WILL paralyzed me permanently. (Because I was paralyzed for 9 months and the cyst on my spinal cord) my liver biopsy showed that I have liver fibrosis and it may be reversible. My liver condition is the reason why we had to change things. I dont want a liver transplant. Fibrosis(Scar tissue growing in my liver) I will get a check up every month because the 6mp MAY cause more damage. If it does then we will stop all treatment there and hope not to relapse.
