So to those who dont know, today is transgender remembrance day, and this particular one is very bittersweet for me. Today Im getting what feels like a first chance at life because I really havent started living my life on my terms 100% yet. But today is also a stark reminder of those that have died this year and it hasnt been easy. I was recently told by my ex girlfriend that a girl we hung out with just about 3ish months ago committed suicide, and whats more there was at least one murder this year kind of close to home. This song captures the feeling of this day better than anything I can think of. Have hope-- every year we get a little bit closer to having *some* semblance of equality. I know Im not letting this society prevent me from living my life--not that I blame those who couldnt last one more day; I totally understand.
