So...today...Chase came home in a new purple shirt that said character counts....He would not tell me why and told me to Facebook his teacher Mrs Katie Chaddock Chandler...which confirms he is my child bc he knows I would have never believed him...lol...so of course I did and explained the reason for the text...and her reply was... Lol! When students do things to show good character, teachers can fill out a Character Counts slip and send it to the office. Last month, we were having reading time with the Dr. Seuss books that the kids brought to school. Chase was sitting with about 7 other kids reading together when he noticed Bo was reading by himself. He got up and left his group, walked over to Bo and said, Ill read with you! So sweet!!! I turned in a slip for Chase being such a good friend. Each time we celebrate a new character trait at school, we have a school-wide program. During the program, Mr. Watson calls the 5 students who he thinks did the best things down and recognizes them, telling the whole student body what they did to a how good character. Chase was chosen today and received the tshirt as a reward!!! This confirms 1 of 2 things....they are calling my child by the wrong name or they are sending the wrong child home on bus 58!
