So today I had an opportunity to go speak with some juveniles at DJJ (Department of Juvenile Justice) about domestic violence and how the death of my cousin Ivy impacted my life. Well, as the young men and women either the chapel their disregard to authority and unruly behavior caused me to do something that I dont do often. Change my message completely. After I finished I believe I made the right decision. I had the guide counselor waiting on me in the rear as I was leaving and said, I have never seen them like this before; listening and paying attention. We have to get you back here. I would then learn that those students are considered the most aggressive juveniles at DJJ. When I go speak in these type settings I do NOT see where a kid/student/juvenile is I see where they can go and who they can one-day become.
