So today at 11...ok, around 1038...I will be walking into Baptist Memorial Hospital for the last time as an ICU RN...as pretty much everyone knows, I finished my MSN-FNP degree up at UofM back in December 2013, and have decided to begin my career. As excited as I am to start my new job, I will miss each and every one of my co-workers...Ive been at Baptist for 9 years (just celebrated my anniversary last Friday thanks to our clock-in), 6 of which were as a nurse. Ive been to my co-workers weddings, funerals, baby showers, wedding showers, birthday parties, crawfish boils, going away parties, bachelorette parties, divorce parties, or just ole fashioned game nights. Ive saved lives with these people, tag teamed to help survive the shift with these people, and yes...been pissed off for no apparent reason with these people. This group of nurses, techs, unit coordinators, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, maintenance workers, cleaning crew, and anyone else that works there (Im setting myself up for disaster) are an AWESOME group to get through your work days with, and they can be pretty fun in the real world too (and much better dressed). ;) So goodbye, everyone...and thanks for helping in making me the nurse/nurse practitioner and person that I am today. :)
