So today is SIX months since a run away veld fire in Grahamstown, destroyed our lovely family home at A Stones Throw Bed and Breakfast, Grahamstown Accommodation, Eastern Cape, we have yet to receive one cent in terms of settlement, rebuilding, not one brick or pot of paint from our insurance that we diligently and timeously paid over - the professionally advised premium for over 14 years, the mind boggles!! Be warned dealing with any kind of insurance is one of the most debilitating soul destroying processes and the almost complete lack of communication and coherent advice is laughable. The biggest problem is that institution (a large well know bank) is so far removed from any kind of personal service and of understanding of what a real live person goes through when they have such a catastrophic loss of EVERYTHING it is just a big mechanized, automated machine that has lost touch with any kind of humanity for sure. I have such an amazing husband, Andre Wille and two fantastic and resilient kids, Tristan Wille and Taryn-Maie Wille I love you guys with all my heart. We are fortunate to have the support and love of our family, awesome neighbors Jane Burnett, Josh Thorburn, Lucy Scott and amazing, bend over backwards, dance like nobodies watching friends, we are indeed the lucky ones, you feed my soul more than you can know. I am always blown away by how often the support and generosity comes from the most refreshingly surprising places, thank you all. If anyone has any advice to share on how to get more illumination, collaboration, progress on our debacle that would be awesome.~! I will keep you posted.
