So today is my day, Day two of grievance hearing. This has been a long time coming, The class in question started in Fall 2012, a YEAR ago! It has been a long road with a long process that we had to follow to a tee, paperwork, deadlines, meetings with 2 different Deans, several assistants and numerous hours. There have been several before me and in the same class with me who experienced similar. But the the way the system and process is, it is set up to have people fail. (the grievance process. ) So those who have good intention to start, never carry it through and finish the process, most just get to step one and voice a complaint. Myself and Melissa Van Fossen have decided enough was enough, we have lived our lives just accepting the status quo. Her and I met a year and a half ago and both were on similar journeys, to improve our lives, selves and to stop just accepting things and to stand up for ourselves and what we believe in. When we both were enrolled in this same class and experienced the same problems. We decided to not accept less then we deserved. We saw the other students who had a hard time also and who constantly complained to us. So we decided not to be a complainer and to do something about it. This is more then just wanting our grade changed. We hope to enlighten the instructor on how she can do better for her future students (she is a great instructor with a lot to teach her students, she just has to work a few kinks out) We hope to learn also how to prevent this from happening to us again, maybe we could have been a little more proactive, demanding and aware of our rights. Whether I win or lose, I pray it was a learning experience for all involved and we all can move forward a little bit better. Thanks Melissa for being my college girlfriend, for lifting me when i needed it and for paving the way for me today, and givng me confidence by watching your great example when it was your turn yesterday! Thanks all of you for your support, good words and prayers! Keep em coming at 2:45 today! I am not going to ask you to wish me luck, because IAM GOING TO WIN THIS! I am very confident in my testimony I wrote last night :) lol GO TEAM TAM AND MELISSA!!! hee hee
