So today marks 40 days before Easter. Everyone is giving something up (I was too). However my challenge to everyone as we prepare for Easter is not to give anything up but to start something new instead. Take this 40 days and renew your relationship with God, increase/start reading your Bible, build/amend bridges and (healthy)relationships, write (not email/text/tweet) to friends, dedicate time to your children and family. This list could go on and on. We have received the greatest gift ever so maybe this season should be about what we can give instead of what we can give up (especially if we are going to pick it back up day 41- IJS...).
