So today my son had orientation at Sylmar HS. He is a ninth grader on Tuesday. He comes from a sheltered Catholic school. As we are walking toward Spartan Hall from the quad, we hear what sounds like fire crackers coming from the front of the school. My boys look at me and we shrug it off as nobody else reacted. After dropping him off for orientation I went to the weightroom to wait for him. Five minutes later we were placed on lockdown. Welcome to the real world my boy. Its happens everywhere. This is by no means an everyday occurence, but how funny that it happened on day 1. Ive been telling him for months he was gonna see and experience things he had never seen before. His reaction after picking him up: Dad, I saw some real cute girls. Thats what he took from all of this. :)
