So today my unsuspecting father received a false phone call from someone pretending to be my son... He told my dad that his best friend died yesterday in an accident and that he was in some serious trouble himself, out of town and needed money immediately.... (My dad had never heard of the grandparent scam) My dad was terrified but had the wherewithal to tell this person he needed to call his mom and dad first. And thats when things got ugly and his grandson proceeded to berate him for being difficult. Then he hung up on my dad. My dad called me furious for the behavior of my child and we proceeded to have a nice little conversation... I told him my son was at work and it was a scam. He was so shook up it took him quite a while to calm down and believe me. THANK GOD he did not wire him any money but this guy had personal information regarding my son that was scary. Tell your parents and your friends this is a very believable and scary scam. There is a special place in hell for people who pray on the elderly:/
