So today started out a being upset and worried over my little guy Eion, who is a Shih Tzu. On the 21st when I came home from work I felt a growth on his neck. I wasnt worried till this past Sunday as it had grown in size. I couldnt take him to the Vet yesterday as I had no money. So when I got paid today, I took him right away! The Ironwood Veterinary Hospital out here was great! The doctor at first thought it might be a block saliva gland, which would require surgery to remove it. OR it could be a thyroid gland, which also would require surgery. So she suggested that they take fluid from the growth and test it to see what was in there. I of course agreed. Now I have children so I know I never like to see them in pain. But I couldnt go with him. So when they stuck him with a needle to draw out fluid my poor little guy hollered. Yes, my dog hollered. Seriously, I was so close to throwing the door open and say What the HELL are you doing to dog! Yea, it was that heart renching for me. Anyway, the doctor came back with Eion and told me, you ready for this? Its a blood blister. Yep. My dog gets a blood blister on his neck! Had the Vet a little dumb founded too, lol. So he now has two types of meds he will need to take for a week twice a day. I am happy to say I am really glad it was not more serious than that. I love my animals as if they were my kids. And just like my kids, my heart hurts when they do. Sorry about the long post, but Im Irish and I have no idea how to make a long story short, ROFLOL.
