So today was interesting. I have just spent the day in hospital, getting poked and prodded by doctors and nurses. While writing RAZE this morning, I was happily writing, feeling ok, if not a little sore from getting my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, when I suddenly (as in an instant) lost my sight and all feeling on my left hand side. I couldnt walk, and could barely talk, I couldnt get off the floor. I managed to call my wonderful hubby and he came straight home from work and rushed me straight to the ER. I have finally been let out after a crazy amount of tests and a lot of loopy medication. Im a little shaken but feeling a little better and my sight is gradually returning and some feeling in my left hand side is coming back. Ive literally been pushing my body to the brink over the last few weeks and today it told me it had had enough. Im a workaholic. I love what I do, and know that writing all day everyday is not always sensible, but I love it--really, its an addiction. However, it takes moments such as these and meaningful words from medical professionals to really take a step back and truly think about your health and that one should just listen to their body a little more. Well lesson learned. Ive never been so scared in my life as I was alone on my living room floor today, so from now on, Ill be listening to my body more and taking a little more care. #ListenToYourBody #KeepHealthy
