So, took the kids to the Kiss/Def Leppard 40th Anniversary Tour at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Tuesday night. Wasnt sure what to expect, after all, theyve been around for a very long time. We originally paid for lawn seats going just for the experience. Did the usual with general admission seats, got there early, stood on line forever, but it was all worth the time, We were the first ones in. After about 10 minutes one of the employees tapped my fiance on the shoulder and told him to go to guest services. After waiting on line there for what seemed an eternity, he finally made his way to the front of the line. There he was offered upgraded ticked for $20 a piece, he thought hell yeah why not. Turns out he got some of the best seats in the house. Mind you, we only spent $20 a piece for our original seats, so for $20 dollars extra for $300-$400 seats we were overjoyed. We made our way to the theatre and waited patiently. Def Leppard came out first and they we just out standing. When my kids saw the drummer, Rick Allen, and realized he only had one arm, they were in total awe. It changed their view on life, and gave them a real can do attitude. They did not disappoint. Then of course KISS came on, half way through their set Paul Stanley zip lined down to an awaiting stage where he could be closer to the people in the back. He picked a little boy up on the stage and held him, brought a tear to our eyes. He zip lined back to the stage and completed their set. This concert was a great time for our family. My kids got to see a real rock concert, and as for my fiance, James Williams, he had the time of his life. He had been waiting a lifetime to see Kiss, couldnt wipe the smile off hi face. What a great family night out!
