And then this one arrived: I was in the Florida Everglades on a flat-bottom boat with my Nan-Nan and Pop-Pop, having just watched a Seminole Indian wrestle a live alligator, when I heard on my little white Japanese transistor radio that our president was shot in Dallas. We all cried.
