So we have been struggling with tantrums lately since my 16 month old likes to throw herself around violently when she gets upset (we have had some injuries from tantrums) so my mom suggested trying to use the pack n play as her calm down/time out spot. And I have to say I think it might be working. Or at least it makes me feel better because I feel I am actually able to "punish" her without spanking--i feel she is too young to understand that one quite yet-- and without worrying about her hitting me or throwing herself into the glass door/corner of furniture/off the edge of the couch/into toys. It is only 9am and we have been in time out 3 times already however the time length of the tantrums is starting to get shorter :-) I know it is not going to stop the crazy outburts tantrums but I think this is saving my sanity a little bit because I was really struggling with how to deal with the screaming/flailing about.
