So we managed to make our dash from the Renfest. It always takes - TopicsExpress

So we managed to make our dash from the Renfest. It always takes several days of packing, loading, and winterizing to get out. The day was chilled, grey, wet and blustery and the weather was perfect for the mood of melancholy travelers. All day, Rennies did scatter on the wind like leaves. So quickly flying away. The threat of rough weather adding speed to their steps. It is so sweet and sad, but more so for us, who only do this Renfest. Many of them are headed for North Carolina, and TX Ren, and others down to Louisiana. Clifford the Big Red Van is a 15 passenger show van, and Misty, the White Mini, both packed to the roofs. We had a long meeting with festival management and a carpenter about some booth work, and then, boarding up the front and leaving it all to the mice and dust motes. It was, most certainly, a very tough year for us. Short handed and erratic schedules with our home staff meant long, long days of work into the morning hours. It isnt over yet. We have Halloween coming and special orders for that, and FaerieCon in a few weeks. But the great press of our Harvest Season is passed us, and we are very glad for it. Now, to catch up on three months of cleaning, mail, laundry, and yard work. Winterizing the Chickens, and so much more. Sad that we miss much of our favorite season in the gardens, but glad to have some time to just rest a bit.
