So, we were in Turkey yesterday and things really didnt go as planned… After Stratovariuss set it started to rain really, really hard and the stage got soaking wet too. For a while it looked like HIM wouldnt be able to play at all - and Im sure many bands wouldnt have gone on that stage - but we got it sorted out good enough to start the show anyway. After about 35 minutes part of the roof came down because of the weight of water and that caused one side of the pa-system dying completely. The band continued playing, but then it started to look like some other parts of the roof might come down also, so somebody had to make a decision of calling the show off - that responsibility was mine, and I can tell you it wasnt easy to make! Anyway, safety comes first, right? I would hate to be the guy who let the show go on and having the band killed in the worst case scenario… Those people whining about the band leaving the stage without saying much and that they shouldve played longer… They really piss me off right now! In a situation like that the first thing in mind probably isnt to start explaining whats going on, but get the hell out and thats what the guys did. And I can say that the band wanted to play longer, but they were not let to do so by us, so if you want to blame someone, blame me and anyone you like, but not the band. Now we are in Slovenia, sun is shining and Im hoping itll be a bit more smooth night at Schengen Festival tonight. Lets see about that later...
