So what did a non Hollywood regular like me feel about the Oscar ceremony? Umm.. mixed. The stars dont feel as distant as they did a decade ago. May be its the social media or just Ellen DeGeneres! One can see frailties and insecurities in them as much as some (though little) awe and inspiration. Everybodys raving about Cate Blanchetts speech, and yes, it showed her intelligence as well as hurt, but what stayed with me was the way Lupita Nyongo started her speech. It doesnt escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is thanks to so much pain in someone elses. A presence or mind and empathy of a very high order!
