So what do guys think of Paul Heyman? Wait, it doesnt really matter what you think of him. Love him or loathe him, you can not simply deny the fact that Paul Heyman is the greatest manager, the greatest promoter (of matches and Pay Per Views) and the greatest nurturer of talent in the history of Pro Wrestling and Sports Entertainment. Many of you may not know this but Heyman is the unrecognized godfather of the modern wrestling business. Before the advent of ECW, which is the brainchild of Paul Heyman, pro wrestling was restricted to the generic storyline of colorful good guys like Hulk Hogan overcoming the odds against villainous bad guys like the Iron Sheikh. Paul Heymans ingenuity broke that stereotype. He introduced us to a world of wrestling where guys like Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer and Sabu put their health on the line week in and week out to entertain us with the most breathtaking and spectacular matches and storylines. Pro Wrestling used to be a watered down family show back in the 80s and the early 90s. Paul Heyman made Pro Wrestling cool again. Paul Heymans trendy, wild and revolutionary ECW tempted the youth to get hooked into the wrestling programs. ECW was the inspiration behind the WWEs attitude era. ECWs shows laid the foundation for the Monday Night Wars. If Paul Heyman had the funds that Vince Mcmahon and Ted Turner did then WWE and WCW would have been thrust into extinction by ECW. Dont believe me? Take a look at what Paul Heyman did with Smackdown! from 2002 to 2005. Smackdown was BORN to play second fiddle to RAW. Yet, Paul Heyman managed to make Smackdown WWEs number one product during that period. He took hidden gems like Eddie Guerrero, Christ Benoit, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and JBL and turned them into the biggest stars in the industry. Paul Heyman gave birth to the career of the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. CM Punk would have never had a career in the WWE if it wasnt for Paul Heyman. He may be an untrustworthy, unstable and out of shape S.O.B. But it doesnt change the fact that Paul Heyman will always be the ONE BEHIND THE ONE IN TWENTY ONE AND ONE. Are you a PAUL HEYMAN GUY now?
